“Light on the living”, new media for a reconnection to the living ⋆ Animal Knowledge

I am Adeline Soler, committed to the planet, defender of the animal kingdom, the plant kingdom and the oceans. I am a country child, who grew up between the Loire and the Sologne. Since my youngest age I have always lived surrounded by animals. I was lucky to have parents who passed on to me the love and protection of wild and domestic animals.

Protecting is innate to me. As a teenager, I wanted to protect our oceans and its marine life. Unable to study marine biology or oceanography, I turned to geography and the mapping of natural hazards. Then I put on the uniform in the air force to protect all those who would need it, even at the cost of the supreme sacrifice.

But life is punctuated with experiences that bring us back to our very essence. Thus my commitment to the protection of living things as a whole has been affirmed following major clicks.

The first happened when, in full military career and having participated in many operations, I no longer saw anything except the darker side of humanity. It was by laying down my uniform after years of service and taking a 10-month trip to the other side of the world to meet myself that I rediscovered the beauty of life. Mother Nature had been my best therapist.

It was a second trigger in 2022 that led me to turn the page definitively after 12 years in the field of Defence. I was then a geopolitical analyst and when I defined my job, the observation was staggering because I only saw in it “the study of the misery of the world”.

But in this exacerbated crisis that humanity is currently experiencing, I find hope and on the contrary I want to show the beauty of life, of the living and of all those marvels that once reconciled me with my own existence and that continue to make me smile.

I’m not a scientist, I’m not a veterinarian, and I don’t have a magic wand to save every living thing in need in our vast world.

At my humble level, I volunteer when I can, I protect the fauna and flora around me and I educate those around me. But that is not enough. As I love to travel, discover the world, photograph, write and transmit the beauty of life that surrounds us, I decided to reconcile all of these passions by becoming a Journalist Reporter of Images. Witnessing our time by using the media wisely is a way that I take to do my part and to impact with my sensitivity.

So I created “Lumière sur le vivant”, which is a new independent media where I do everything from A to Z.

I thus offer a series of reports and content with a positive impact to help you discover or rediscover the beauty of life, animal and plant species around your home or around the world.

They are also meetings, interviews, with men and women who by their profession, their passion or their art, work with their heart for the preservation of this living thing so precious..

I thus propose to take you on the ground in exploration by my side.

So the message of my project of the heart is to “(R)awakening consciences for a (re)connection to the living”.

The wonderment and emotions resulting from my achievements (reports, articles, interviews, etc.) are cornerstonesin order to rekindle the bonds between Man and all the other living beings of our beautiful planet, by touching the soul, opening the heart and putting a smile on every face.

For me “every life counts, however humble it may be”. It’s my credo. I could not live on a planet where all these wonders would disappear.

“Lumière sur le vivant” was launched in the spring with a first report produced at Apus Apuces, a wildlife care center in Loiret. The anonymous heroes who work in this association are a good example. Each of us can act like them, on our own level. So why not you? See you soon for new reports.
