Lienen (NRW) – The killer lurked at the exit of the dark train tunnel. Then he mercilessly butchered his unsuspecting victim with a knife.
After a gruesome bloody deed in the tranquil village of Kattenvenne (belongs to Lienen, Steinfurt district, 1,350 inhabitants), the homicide squad is chasing Abdul Raman K. (45). The Syrian had ambushed an acquaintance († 55) with whom he had been arguing for a long time at the train station in Münsterland on Wednesday followingnoon.
As the man arriving by train came out of the tunnel, he stabbed him in the chest and neck. The victim bled to death at the scene.
A passer-by saw the perpetrator run away and alerted the police and an ambulance. Raman Abdul K. is believed to have fled in a gray Opel Zafira. The police found the car on Friday evening at the train station in neighboring Lengerich. A witness found the car there.
“There is a possibility that the accused drove to the train station in Lengerich in this car immediately following the crime,” the investigators said. The police were looking for other witnesses who might have seen the 45-year-old Syrian at the station or on a train.
The exact background of the crime is still unclear. Please phone the police for information. Telephone number: 0251-2750.
