Liefering wins the supplementary game against Steyr

With an energetic performance, FC Liefering won the supplementary game to the second round of the 2nd soccer league against Vorwarts Steyr on Tuesday evening. Red Bull’s talent factory defeated the Upper Austrians 4:3 (1:1) after 60 minutes despite being 1:3 behind in Grödig. The match was stopped on Friday after 75 minutes when Liefering was 1-0 due to a storm and had to be repeated.

Dijon Kameri put the Salzburg hosts ahead with a penalty (39′), which Gerhard Dombaxi was able to equalize immediately before the break. In the second half, Tolga Günes, who scored with a hand penalty (56′), and Tobias Pellegrini (60′) scored twice. Substitute Elias Havel brought Salzburg back into the game with a brace (69’/82′). Marcel Moswitzer finally scored the 4:3 winning goal in the 91st minute.


Liefering is now fifth in the table after his first win of the season with four points, Steyr is tenth with one point. Four teams are at the top of the league with two wins after the first two rounds: St. Pölten ahead of Amstetten, promoted Vienna and SV Horn.
