Lieferando: Works council elections completed at all nationwide locations

Union vida congratulates the works council team: 800 employees have a say and codetermination in the company

Vienna. (OTS) The Austria-wide works council elections for the Lieferando bicycle delivery service have been completed. “The 800 riders employed at all Austrian locations now have a say and a say in the company,” says Markus Petritsch, chairman of the road department in the vida trade union.

Petritsch congratulates the works council chairman Toni Pravdic and his deputy Fabian Warzilek as well as the entire works council team, which consists of twelve members, on the successful election. “The bike couriers work hard in all weathers, late into the night, including weekends and public holidays. I am convinced that a strong works council team will succeed in improving working conditions and in stabilizing and further developing employment relationships,” says Petritsch.

“Employees know where they can find someone who will listen to their concerns. The common goal must be that working in the industry can no longer be described as precarious. You have to be able to lead a good life with a full-time job without having to turn over every single euro before spending it,” says the vida trade unionist.

“On the part of vida, we will also make our contribution once more and stand up for the riders in particular during the next collective agreement negotiations in autumn. Last but not least, due to the persistently high level of inflation, we will campaign for fair payment and the further development of their rights and claims,” emphasizes Petritsch.
