At the beginning of the year, Lidl announced, following Carrefour and Delhaize, that it was going to gradually eliminate its brochures in the big cities to invest more in digital. “People in big cities are more connected and place ‘no ads’ stickers on their mailboxes more often. This already makes you lose part of your coverage,” the discounter told Gondola.
Lidl had already reduced the distribution of these paper folders in Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp. Other large cities were to follow. It will now be done, starting next week.
Gondola reports that the supermarket has decided to completely abandon folders in 4 major Belgian cities, namely Liège, Namur, Antwerp and Ghent. The goal ? Reduce the printing of their 1.9 million flyers by 10%.
But customers from Liège and Namur can be reassured, they will still be able to find out regarding the offers via the Lidl Plus application, the lidl.be website or by consulting the folders which will always be available in stores.
