Alexander De Croo arrived at the fairground around 3:00 p.m. It was not his first in Libramont, far from it. The Flemish liberal, like his father Herman De Croo, is a faithful supporter of the Ardennes event. Father and son, great horse lovers, have already attended the Libramont Fair many times in a private capacity in the past.

“I’ve been to Libramont several times. It’s always a pleasure to go there when my schedule allows it. The work of our farmers deserves to be recognized and valued”, declared Mr. De Croo. “Our farmers have enormous know-how, of which we can be proud. We must listen to them and facilitate their adaptation to the new challenges posed by nature and the climate.”

“Every time I go to Libramont, I am amazed by the innovation that is revealed there and by this desire to meet these challenges. Fundamentally, our farmers are essential partners in the transition that we are actively putting in place. in place,” added the Prime Minister.

As for the organizers of the Fair, we are delighted with this second prestigious visit following the arrival, on Saturday, of the European Commissioner for Agriculture, the Polish Janusz Wojciechowski.

The Libramont Agricultural Fair welcomes some 200,000 visitors year following year over four days, which makes it, according to its organizers, “the largest open-air agricultural fair in Europe”.

Libramont attracts a large Flemish public. Among the hundreds of exhibitors represented at the agricultural and forestry fair, approximately 40% come from the north of the country.
