Today, Friday, the Yemeni army spokesman, Brigadier General Abdo Majali, announced the liberation of 80% of the strategic city of Haradh, north of Hajjah Governorate, northwest of Yemen.
Brigadier-General Majali said in a press briefing, “The army forces in the Fifth Military Region continue, for the eighth consecutive day, to make rapid advances on the ground in the Haradh district, by encircling, encircling, and controlling the roads and the governing bodies.”
He explained that the forces liberated the strategic camp (Al-Muhssam), the Al-Hussain Mountains, and the strategic Al-Hayja mountain range east of Al-Muhsam Mountain, and liberated the villages of Umm Al-Hisn, Umm Al-Tarab and Al-Hamra, northeast of the city, as well as securing the international line linking the governorates of Hajjah and Al-Hodeidah at a distance of 70 kilometers.
He added, “Our forces are dealing with the remaining militia members deep in the city of Haradh, and the engineering teams are working to remove obstacles and mines, planted by the terrorist militia, in roads, government facilities and citizens’ homes.”
A Yemeni army spokesman confirmed that the fighters of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy had carried out precise air strikes that destroyed Houthi command and control centers, sites, mechanisms and reinforcements.
He pointed out that the army and the Giants Brigades are continuing, with the support of the fighter jets, the liberation operations of the ruling positions between the Harib and Juba districts, south of Ma’rib.
He added, “Our forces have completed control of the important crossroads linking the two districts, and the Al-Jufra and Al Abu Ghanem areas have been liberated in the Abdiya district.”
Brigadier Majali stated that the offensive operations are continuing on the Maqbna front in Taiz governorate, in which strategic sites have been liberated, including the fortress site and large areas in the Al-Ikhloud area, and losses have been inflicted on the militia, financially and in terms of human resources.
He pointed out that the coalition fighters carried out several raids that targeted the enemy’s fortifications in the districts of Jabal Jabshi and Maqbna, confirming the destruction of 3 14.5m caliber machine guns, two combat vehicles and a 23m cannon, and the destruction of 8 combat crews carrying Houthi militias, weapons and ammunition.
Strong battles with the Houthis
Earlier today, Friday, the Al-Yaman Al-Saeed Brigades took control of most of the center of Haradh District, Hajjah Governorate Regaining control of the villages of Umm Al-Hassam Umm al-Turab and al-Hamra, northeast of Haradh, following fierce battles with the Houthis.
The combing of the southern and eastern neighborhoods continues following the arrival of reinforcements from the Al-Asifa and Al-Orouba brigades from the Saada front, in which the coalition announced the start of a military operation for the Happy Yemen Brigades, with the coalition’s aircraft continuing to target Houthi gatherings and mechanisms.
These targeting resulted in heavy losses in equipment and lives among the Houthi militia.
On Thursday, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced that it had carried out 18 attacks once morest the Houthi militia in Marib and Hajjah during the past 24 hours. The coalition added that 12 military vehicles were destroyed, in addition to human losses in the ranks of the Houthi militia in Marib and Hajjah.
The Yemeni army forces continued, for the seventh consecutive day, their advance in the Haradh front, north of Hajjah Governorate, amid collapses in the ranks of the Houthi militia.
The commander of the Knights Brigade, Brigadier General Abdul Hakim Ghadhban, said that on Thursday, elements of the army carried out a surprise attack on the Houthi militia positions, during which they managed to liberate the villages of “Umm Al-Hassam”, “Umm Al-Tarab” and “Al-Hamra”, northeast of Haradh.
Brigadier-General Ghadban pointed out that the army forces, backed by the coalition aircraft, continue to comb the eastern and southern neighborhoods of Haradh, pursue the remaining Houthi elements, and clear them of mines.
In this context, the coalition fighters carried out several air strikes targeting militia gatherings in the same city, killing and wounding dozens of Houthi elements and destroying their vehicles.
Earlier on Thursday, the Yemeni army forces tightened the siege on the Houthi militia in the center of the border city of Haradh, following securing a mountain range east of the city, through which the militia was trying to break the siege imposed on its members since last Friday.
