Nacera Chabert, Audrey Rohmer, Claudine Shérif-Sauce, Emilie Camp and Adeline Barra… These liberal nurses form the cabinet of the rue de Paris. And they are not too many to perform all the tasks of a profession in full evolution.
“Today, we are doing more than our role as caregivers. We are sweeping a much broader spectrum,” says Nacera Chabert. And to resume: “We have a preventive and educational role with patients who are psychologically or psychiatrically weak or suffering from chronic pathology such as diabetes.
Home nurses are also a point of support in the fight once morest the isolation of the elderly. “This isolation, we see it every day. It was accentuated 4-5 years ago and accelerated with COVID. People are more and more isolated”, notes the health professional, who does not hesitate to speak of increasingly present individualism.
Finally, liberal nurses are also dependent on developments in medicine and in particular the increasingly important use of day surgery. “As patients are coming back earlier and earlier, we have to identify post-operative risks. We are in a way the eyes of doctors and surgeons”, explains Nacera Chabert.
And for the self-employed nurse, the fact of working at 5 also makes it possible to take more time with patients and to play this role of monitoring people’s health.
