St. Polten (OTS) – The Lower Austrian Economic Parliament took place today in the Julius Raab Hall in the WIFI St. Pölten, where an impressive number of entrepreneurs came together to campaign for the strengthening of the Lower Austrian economy and to set priorities with motions.
The Freedom team, consisting of LAbg Peter Gerstner, Florian Schüssler, MSc, industry spokesman DI Sigurd Hofer and state chairman Reinhard Langthaler, was fully represented and involved in the discussions and votes.
After the words of welcome from Governor Mikl-Leitner and the report from President Ecker, the motions for the Economic Parliament were processed. The Free Economy advocated the introduction of a new subject called ‘career orientation including an understanding of regionality and general financial education’ and the ‘abolition of the CO2 tax and the withdrawal of the Novareform’ with its applications for the introduction of a new subject. Both applications were accepted by a majority, which is an important step for the future of Lower Austria’s economy.
Unfortunately, the Liberal motion ‘Our homeland, our economy’, which dealt with support for stationary trade and the taxation of multinational corporations, was not approved by the other factions and was rejected. Nevertheless, the free economy and its representatives will continue to campaign for these important issues and lobby in the various committees for implementation.
What was particularly shocking, however, was the rejection of the urgently needed ‘Check for the unbureaucratic employment of temporary workers in the catering industry’ by the ÖVP federal chairman of the catering industry, Mario Pulker. “It is completely incomprehensible to us that the highest representative of the ÖVP business association rejects such a measure to support the catering trade,” commented state chairman Reinhard Langthaler disappointed. “In any case, the landlords can rely on the free economy. We will continue to work intensively on the check model we have developed and will work in various committees to achieve implementation.”
The Liberal Economy of Lower Austria remains determined to represent the interests of the local economy and to work to strengthen it. Together with the entrepreneurs in Lower Austria, they are striving for a prosperous future.
