The House of Councilors, whose voting date is approaching on July 10, is focusing on measures once morest high prices.
While it is widely reported that the consumer price index (CPI) in May exceeded 2% for the second consecutive month, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said, “We will firmly prepare measures specialized in the energy and food fields.” Kenta Izumi, the representative of the Constitutional Democratic Party, named the recent high price index “Kishida inflation” and criticized “the politics of ignoring households and savings” and “pricelessness”, and the ruling and opposition parties continue to argue.
Under these circumstances, it is the active fiscal group within the Liberal Democratic Party, led by former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who continues to insist that the core core CPI has not risen by 1% yet.
