Oasis member Liam Gallagher announced Monday his intention to perform a series of concerts next year during which he will perform songs from the band’s first album, “Definitely Maybe,” with his brother Noel not joining this concert tour.
The concerts will be held in Sheffield, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin, on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the release of the album that achieved international fame for the English band.
But fans of the band who want the brothers to put their differences aside will have to wait until it becomes clear whether Noel will participate in the tour or not, with there being no indication that the songwriter and guitarist will join it, noting that the latter said in a recent interview, “It should not.” “Never say never,” in response to the possibility of a meeting between him and his brother.
The two brothers have not played together since the band split in 2009, but they both still regularly perform their band’s old songs.
Liam Gallagher, in a post on Instagram, expressed his happiness at celebrating “the most important album released during the nineties of the twentieth century.”
He said, “I would not have achieved any success without this album, and neither will you. So let’s celebrate together.”
The 1994 album “Definitely Maybe” includes some of the band’s most famous songs, including “Live Forever,” “Supersonic” and “Cigarettes and Alcohol.”
In addition to the entire album, Gallagher will perform songs by the band released during the same period, including “Whatever” and “Fade Away.”
Tickets will go on sale Friday.
