It’s good to be back!‘ Liam sings at the end of Hellothe set opener of Knebworth 22 (cut together for this third Gallagher Kid live album from the two nights of the weekend on 3rd and 4th June 2022 in front of a total of 170,000 fans) to an enthusiastic crowd.

With the allusion to the legendary Oasisgigs from 1996 in the rearview mirror, a large part of the show – or: 9 of 16 songs of this recording – consists of material from the legendary brother band: will cynics throw the question into the room as to whether the otherwise self-confident 50-year-old For example, has no confidence in his own solo work (while Beady Eyenumbers are not taken into account anyway)?
In fact, the representatives of C’mon You Know, Why Me? Why Not. as well as As You Were in the clear shadow of evergreens like (the ones that have changed the order on the sound carrier) Cigarettes & Alcohol and Some Might Say, Wonder wall, Champagne Supernova (with John Squire from the Stone Roses as a guest) or above all the often overlooked anthem Roll it Over but quite convincing and carry the good mood in Knebworth 22 more than solid, always powerfully superior to the studio versions.

That Liam is vocally absolutely up to par, that his band delivers with appropriate motivation and also that for More Power boisterous, over-the-top soul-backing ladies into the context adds to the latently euphorically captured atmosphere of a timeless, if not iconic, rock ‘n’ roll performance.
And then a weighty fact puts it into perspective, as the only really serious blemish of Knebworth 22the actual ratio of original and quasi-cover songs: once once more, Liam doesn’t provide a complete live recording of a show – this time, frustratingly, he did Morning Glory, Stand By Me, Live Forever and especially your own Shockwave (in favor of the far better Everything’s Electric from the second day), Better Days, Why Me? Why Not. as well as Diamond in the Dark simply left out.

Addendum: Diamond in the Dark and Stand By Me can be found on the Japanese edition of the CD as bonus tracks.
