The two brothers who haven’t seen each other for more than ten years reunite, but instead of seeing each other happily, it causes a tragedy in life. That legacy is an introduction, drawing out many dark things in human nature, and in the face of these shadows, the brilliance of human nature becomes very weak. The two brothers have natural personalities, the older brother is sloppy and achieves nothing; the younger brother is excellent and has a successful career. Under such a contrast, the attitudes and expectations of the parents are also very different. Since childhood, they have brought different life pressures to their two sons, good and bad. , The resentment is deeply tied, and there is no way to solve it, and finally it is out of control.
In “The Screenwriter’s Words”, Zhuang Meiyan said that since she was a child, she disapproved of the story of “The Prodigal Son” in the Bible. She did not think that unconditional love is right. Instead, a lot of wisdom was born after experiencing the dark side of human nature. This is reminiscent of Mark Twain’s famous short story “A Tale” (Edward Mills and George Benton: A Tale). , penetrating the helpless worldly sophistication, the good in the evil, the good in the evil, the boundary between good and evil is blurred, only the comments of the world make noise.
