98 inches, Mini-LED, AI α8, webOS Re:New… LG is full of new features with its new QNED range.
Just before CES 2024 begins, LG is launching its new QNED series. They have a giant 98 inch model, but they do not forget those who have less space with screens ranging from 43 to 86 inches. Obviously there are other changes.
Mini-LED, IA α8, webOS Re:New…
As a reminder, QNED is LCD. There is the standard QNED (with Quantum Nanocell, Quantum Dots as at Samsung) and the QNED Mini-LED. So, what’s up with that? The big deal here is the Mini-LED.
Imagine thousands of small diodes working to give a more accurate image. This is what makes blacks deeper and colors brighter while consuming less energy. LG gives us some head-turning figures: a contrast of 1,000,000:1 with 2500 dimming zones on their Mini-LED televisions. But be careful, it’s dynamic contrast, so we’ll wait to see it in real life.
At the heart of these televisions there is the α8 AI processor. It is he who manages everything that is image with a well-honed AI. We are promised artificial intelligence performance up to 1.3 times faster, and on the graphics side, it is 2.6 times better. For sound, LG is not left out with its AI Sound Pro for improved sound. Moreover, if you have an LG soundbar, you can synchronize it with the TV to take the experience even further. It’s called the WOW Orchestra feature, it integrates the soundbar with the TV speakers for a better surround experience.
LG also surprises with webOS Re:New. Basically, you will have the latest Smart TV updates for five years. And for those who are team Android, good news: Chromecast is finally coming to LG TVs in 2024.
And otherwise, yes, details on pricing and availability will be revealed at CES. Patience.
