LG today brought the 2022 Gram series ultra-thin notebooks to Taiwan, including four sizes of 17-inch, 16-inch, 15-inch and 14-inch. The entire line of Gram laptops are powered by 12th-generation Core i processors, but otherwise, the changes are limited compared to last year’s models. The 17-inch, 16-inch and 14-inch models carry over the previous generation’s 16:10 IPS panel, with the 17- and 16-inch models both having 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and the 14-inch 1,920 x 1,200 resolution. Of the four, only the 15-inch version still maintains a 16:9 aspect ratio with a Full HD resolution.
The LG Gram series still maintains a very light weight, the heaviest 17-inch version is 1,350g, and the lightest 14-inch version is only 999g. It is worth mentioning that this year’s 17-inch and 16-inch versions have also added the option of NVIDIA RTX2050 independent graphics, and the 17-inch and 16-inch Grams equipped with independent graphics are still only 1,435g and 1,285g, which is more than many ordinary 14-inch graphics. Laptops are still light. The 2022 Gram laptop with LG Glance by Mirametrix technology recognizes the user with its FHD webcam, but locks the laptop screen when the user is away, or when someone is peeking in the face It will automatically blur and darken to prevent peeping.
LG only showed a 16-inch model at the press conference today, but it also brought a Gram +view portable screen. This screen uses the same panel as the 16-inch Gram, and is also deliberately designed to be the same height as the Gram, so that the two can achieve the same visual effect when they are arranged. There are USB-C ports on both sides of the +view, you can freely choose the position of the screen, and the protective cover can be rolled up to make it stand at an angle of 105 degrees or 120 degrees. The body weight of +view is 670g, and the total weight of the protective case is 990g.
The 2022 LG Gram series is currently on sale, with prices ranging from NT$43,900 to NT$59,900, while the LG Gram +view external screen is NT$9,900. But it seems that I haven’t seen a version with built-in independent graphics.
