LG’s new phone is truly different from the devices currently available. The name of this unique LG smartphone is Wing 5G. which has been introduced.
The LG Wing 5G is equipped with a display that rotates the main display to reveal a second screen underneath.
It is part of the company’s new Explorer project that was announced a few days ago.
Well, this is not the first experimental phone from LG this year, it also introduced the LG Velvet phone, but still the Wing’s T-shape dual screen design is quite unique.
Compared to dual-screen phones like the Microsoft Duo, Motorola Razr and Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, the LG Wing’s second display is only visible when the main screen is rotated to a 90-degree angle.
The T-shaped phone can be used in multiple ways such as video on the main screen and the second display can be used to access video controls.
Or you can view images from the phone’s image gallery on the main screen and access image controls on the smaller screen.
2 apps can be used separately on both screens and these are just a few options.
The main screen on the LG Wing is equipped with a 6.8-inch FHD Plus POLED edge-to-edge display and in basic mode it can be used like a normal smartphone.
But when it is rotated clockwise to a 90-degree angle, a second 3.9-inch OLED display is revealed and by doing so, 2 apps can be brought up simultaneously.
The company calls it Swivel mode and a protective coating ensures smooth operation and protects the second display from scratches.
The LG Wing is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.
A 4000 mAh battery is provided with wired as well as wireless charging support while Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 Plus technology is present.
Similarly, Android 10 operating system is given but LG says that it will be updated to Android 11 soon.
As for the cameras, the phone has a 3-camera setup on the back.
The 64-megapixel main camera is equipped with f1.8 aperture, along with 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and 12-megapixel ultra-wide rear cameras.
The front has a 32-megapixel camera with a pop-up mechanism and the fingerprint sensor is located inside the display.
The company has not yet announced the price of the device, but it could be up to $1,000, which will go on sale first in South Korea next month.
