LG Electronics sponsors ‘Pak Se-ri golf event’ for children with disabilities

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Cheol-seon Kim = LG Electronics[066570]announced on the 27th that it participated as the main sponsor in the ‘LG Electronics Pak Se-ri World Match Golf Tournament’ held at Bear’s Best Cheongna Golf Club in Incheon on the 26th.

This event is a charity event designed to support disabled children and those who dream of golf. Six LPGA legends, including Se-ri Pak, Annika Sorenstam, and Lorena Ochoa, and 6 active players from Korea Women’s Professional Golf Association (KLPGA). A total of 12 people participated.

At the event, a total of 200 million won was raised by adding support to the ‘buddy fund’, which was accumulated by 1 million won each time players recorded a birdie.

The Se-ri Pak Hope Foundation delivered a donation of 50 million won to the Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital right following the contest was over. The hospital plans to purchase 30 sets of ‘LG Standby Me’ wireless mobile screens with donations and use them for rehabilitation treatment of children and adolescents with disabilities.

Other donations are managed by the Se-ri Pak Hope Foundation and used to foster talented junior golfers in golf.
