Lewis Hamilton “It’s really frustrating to be 1.8 seconds behind” / F1 Belgian GP qualifying[F1-Gate.com]

Lewis Hamilton marked the 7th fastest time in qualifying for the 2022 F1 Belgian Grand Prix. The final will start from 4th on the grid.

Winning the 2nd place podium in two races in a row before the summer vacation, and seven cars including the top machines will receive grid penalties in this tournament, so Mercedes F1 and Lewis Hamilton will win the first victory of the season. I expected that.

However, the “cold” Mercedes F1 machine was forced to struggle at Spa-Francorchamps, where the temperature was low, and Lewis Hamilton was 7th, 1.8 seconds behind the top. He expressed frustration at not being able to improve.

“Everyone is working hard to improve and we came here very optimistic that we might close the gap, so it’s really frustrating to be 1.8 seconds behind, but that’s the reality.” Lewis Hamilton commented.

“We continue to struggle with this car and will definitely miss it at the end of the year. The other two teams ahead of us are in different leagues and We can’t continue to rely on them to dwindle.”

“We have to switch minds and make sure that next year’s car is where we need it and we’ll do the best we can with what we have for the rest of the season.”

“We were a little too draggy and the aero balance was not stable in the corners. It’s very difficult to get around that, but we’ll do our best for tomorrow.”

“It’s heartbreaking for the team because I know how hard everyone works, but the basics of this car are that sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s really bad.”
