According to several media, FC Barcelona raised its offer and offered Bayern 40 million euros plus five million bonuses at the end of June to recruit the 34-year-old striker.

Despite the player’s desire to leave one year before the end of his contract, following eight seasons in Bavaria, the Bavarian club has so far shown itself to be inflexible with regard to FC Barcelona, which is increasing the number of requests.
