Robert Lewandowski has caused a lot of unrest at Bayern Munich in recent months. With his public attacks once morest the German record champions, the Pole deliberately provoked his move to FC Barcelona. The 33-year-old has now apologized to FCB fans for his behavior.

Robert Lewandowski spoke to those responsible at FC Bayern last week and emphasized that everything was “okay” between him and his former club. Now the Pole would also like to mend the tense relationship with the FCB fans.

“We’re all human, following all, aren’t we?”

In an interview with “Sport1”, the 33-year-old apologized for his public statements and attacks: “I know that hurt a lot of fans. I can understand them and I can only apologize for that now.”

According to the striker, he just wanted to express his feelings and not consciously attack anyone: “It was important and necessary for me at that moment to make it clear that I’m ready for a change. At the end of the day, we’re all only human, right? After twelve years in Germany it was clear to me: I’m done here. I wanted to make that clear.”

For many supporters of the German record champions, Lewandowski has become “persona non grata” with his move to FC Barcelona. According to the Polish national player, there are also some fans who have shown understanding for his transfer: “In the past few weeks I’ve met a few fans on the street who have expressed understanding for my situation and wished me all the best. “
