Leviathan is the champion of Stage 2 of the VCT Americas 2024

Last Sunday, July 21, the final of the VCT Americas Stage 2where Leviathan triumphed over G2 Esports to secure first place in their region heading into Valorant Champions.

G2 Esports defeated Leviathan in the playoffs, sending them to the loser bracket, but the Argentine team made a full recovery to reach the final and win the competition representing all of Latin America.

The match between G2 Esports and Leviathan started on the Lotus map in a really close match. In the second half of the match, the match remained even and neither team refused to give in, forcing overtime. However, it was Leviathan who managed to take the last three rounds, which gave them the victory with a score of 13-15.

The next map was Haven with Leviathan, taking the first half of the match, staying ahead on the scoreboard with 7-5. Although after the change of sides G2 Esports managed to reduce the difference of rounds, but Leviathan managed to win the second map with a 16-14.

The match went down to the wire, with the first two maps of the series going into double overtime. Although G2 Esports won the third game, Leviathan finished strong on Ascent and took the win 3-1.

“I wanted to come into this year and win at least one trophy, and now we have a chance to win two,” Corbin “C0M” Lee said in the postgame interview. “I have one thing to say: People can talk about my stats all they want, but all I do is win.”

What’s next for Leviathan?

With this being their second time participating in the Valorant Champions after narrowly missing out in 2023, Leviathan players like Erick “aspas” Santos and C0M are aiming for their second Champions title. Aspas won his first trophy with LOUD in 2022, while C0M did so with Evil Geniuses in 2023. No other player has won two Champions titles to date.

Valorant Champions will kick off on August 1 in Seoul, South Korea, with 16 teams. The event will be held at the COEX Artium and INSPIRE Arena, with the top four teams competing at the INSPIRE Arena.

For the Valorant World Cup, we will have two Latin American representatives: Leviathan and KRÜ Esports and the groups will be divided as follows:
