Belo Horizonte (MG), September 9, 2024 – In the heat of the grand final of the Brazilian League of Legends Championship (CBLOL), played this Saturday (7) at Ginásio Mineirinho, in Belo Horizonte (MG), and which crowned paiN Gaming’s fourth championship, the YoGamers do Bem (YGB) institute carried out a socio-educational action the day before with 18 students from the SL Moderation course, all from the first semester of 2024. Felipe ‘YoDa’ Noronha, president of YGB and CEO of Grupo SehLoiro, and representatives of Riot Games took the students on a tour of the decision stage, so that they could get to know the backstage of this great event.

The goal was to give students, all enrolled in public schools in the Minas Gerais municipalities of Pedro Leopoldo and Confins, the opportunity to get to know the production, professional players, casters and professionals involved in one of the largest esports championships in the country. The action also provided a practical immersion in the world of moderation, so that everyone could understand the importance of this work in the broadcasts of the main esports tournaments in Brazil and around the world.

It is in Pedro Leopoldo, a city located in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, 46 kilometers from the capital of Minas Gerais, that the institute maintains two YoGamers do Bem rooms dedicated to training and professionalization in the gamer market. One of them is at the Pedro Leopoldo Foundation (FPL), a partner of Escola Sebrae, and the other is at the NGO Cantinho de Luz, in the Teotônio Batista de Fretas neighborhood (also known as Bairro da Lua) and dedicated to social actions for the local community.

“I can only thank Riot Games for their partnership and support in our educational and social initiatives. This is what makes me believe more and more that we cannot give up, because we are on the right path”, says Adriana Piller Noronha, co-founder and executive business director of Grupo SehLoiro.

“This initiative in partnership with Riot Games greatly strengthens YoGamers do Bem’s mission to transform the lives of many young people, as it enhances our training actions in live streaming moderation. It is very gratifying to see the students in our two classrooms in Pedro Leopoldo having the opportunity to see how everything works in practice and the size of the impact of moderation for the esports community”, says YoDa.

“We know that players are passionate about our games, so it’s very rewarding to have partnerships like this that provide meaningful and memorable experiences for fans. In addition, the moderation work with the SehLoiro group has been very important for our championships and has brought positive results to our channels. Bringing this to the community is also a way to show the importance of this work in esports broadcasts, and this opportunity made this possible,” says Igor Correa, LOL Esports Product Manager at Riot Games.

Digital inclusion in the gaming universe

YGB is dedicated to promoting digital inclusion, knowledge about the gaming universe and its various professions, and sociocultural transformation for children and young people in Brazil. Both rooms maintained by the institute in Pedro Leopoldo currently offer SL Moderation, a live broadcast moderation course that is part of the SL Educa platform, from the SehLoiro Group. Students who attend the classes also take a digital literacy course.

The two active classrooms offer free workshops in the gaming and technology universe. The goal is to promote job creation and income for public school students interested in pursuing a career in the segment, with live streaming moderation as the gateway. To strengthen this mission, the institute continues to expand and plans to open a new classroom in the city of São Paulo (SP) in 2025.

YGB expects to receive hundreds of students from the Pedro Leopoldo municipal network in its two classrooms, increasing the socio-educational actions that the institution has been carrying out in the Minas Gerais municipality since 2019. The identity and methodology applied in the municipality will be replicated in the future for new units planned to be opened in several states in Brazil.

As a result of this project, YoDa received the Chico Xavier Award in 2022, consisting of a medal and a diploma awarded by the Pedro Leopoldo City Council. The honor seeks to recognize individuals and institutions that provide relevant services to the local community, including solidarity actions and actions that encourage spiritual elevation and harmony among individuals.

The partnership between YGB and Pedro Leopoldo began in 2019 with the first gaming room in Brazil, which opened at the Confins International Airport. 80 students were trained there in partnership with the Education Departments of the municipalities of Pedro Leopoldo, Confins and Lagoa Santa. In 2022, the room was transferred to FPL with the support of the city’s Education Department. To date, over 300 students from public schools have been trained for the live streaming market, seven of whom have been integrated as moderators of the SehLeiro Group.

About the YoGamers do Bem Institute

The YoGamers do Bem Institute is a non-profit organization founded in 2019 that aims to promote digital and technological inclusion and sociocultural transformation for children, young people and adults. In partnership with the third sector and private companies, it carries out social campaigns to combat hunger, helps in the causes of natural disasters and supports the strengthening of the culture of volunteering.

It was born from the dream of Felipe ‘YoDa’ Noronha, streamer, former Brazilian e-sports champion, businessman and one of the biggest entrepreneurs in the Brazilian gaming market, to bring opportunities to children and young people through gaming culture. Currently, the two YGB rooms, based at the Pedro Leopoldo Foundation and the NGO Cantinho de Luz, serve young people aged 10 to 17 living in the Minas Gerais municipalities of Pedro Leopoldo and Confins with free courses in digital literacy, moderation and digital workshops.

About SehLoiro Group

Created in 2015, the SL Group is an innovation and entertainment hub formed by different business verticals that bring together initiatives linked to the culture of live streaming, electronic games and influencer consultancy.

SL’s history dates back more than 10 years. Our path to industry leadership began with the ‘SehLoiro ÉoQ’ brand, which was registered to become a product on t-shirts, sweatshirts and notebooks. The turning point was with the first content program, YoTalkshow, and the emergence of the ‘Y’ brand, which strengthened our vision of uniting the world of gaming through live streaming entertainment.

From there, we started developing content programs and training more and more new players who dreamed of working with games and consuming live streams. Thus, we celebrated each of our business segments and had a lot of fun along the way with our pillars SL Studios, SL Moderation, SL Educa and YoGamers do Bem.

At SL Studios, we offer content production, influencer consulting, licensing, and publishing services for video games. In 2024, with Phyrexi and Nuuvem, we launched our first game in development, MAGISTRIKE.

In the SL MOD pillar, we understand that there is a lot of work to be done in live streaming and we created a pioneering methodology for moderation, social listening and integration of bots on digital platforms: Twitch, YouTube, Shorts and Tik Tok. Three years ago, we moderated the Twitch and YouTube channels of Riot Games Br. And, for more than 10 years, the YoDa channel on Twitch. We were responsible for moderating the channels on Twitch, YouTube and Tik Tok for Riot Games NA, LCS, VCT Americas and MSI 2024, as well as Amazon Music Br and HyperX.

In the education pillar, with the aim of offering technical training to professionals who wish to pursue a gaming career, we launched SL Educa. And through the YoGamers do Bem Institute, we promote inclusion and sociocultural transformation, the fight against hunger, aid in natural disasters and the culture of volunteering.
