Pakistan strongly reacted to the letter from the US Congress members regarding the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan, saying that commenting on Pakistan’s internal affairs is a violation of diplomatic etiquette and such letters. Pakistan-US relations and mutual respect do not match.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch’s reaction to the letter written by 60 American Congress members to President Joe Biden for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan was revealed.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office, while giving a weekly briefing to the journalists, said that such letters are not compatible with Pakistan-US relations and mutual respect. Commenting on Pakistan’s internal affairs is a violation of diplomatic etiquette.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Russian Prime Minister had a detailed discussion during the SCO meeting, she cannot confirm the news of anyone’s visit to Pakistan.
