The experienced politician, the president of the Cercle OMEGA party, Marcel Robert Ntchoreret, who is opposed to the rapid return to the barracks of the soldiers gathered within the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI), believes that the latter, who have demonstrated an affirmed patriotism since their arrival in power on August 30, 2023, should, he says, continue to remain in control of the country, even after the transition.

“Let the military restore order, let the military conduct the affairs of the Nation”said Mr. Ntchoreret, in a press conference held on August 22, 2024 in Libreville.

Unconditional support of the CTRI led by General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the Cercle OMEGA party believes that the power that was embodied for 56 years by the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) has brilliantly failed. The regimes of Omar Bongo (1967-2009) and Ali Bongo (October 2009-August 2023), are, according to him, illustrated by approximate governance that has weighed down the development of the country.

“The military have demonstrated their capacity, they have demonstrated their responsibility and they have demonstrated their attachment to the flag, to the Nation, to the Republic; I think that this is not the debate, the debate is the development of Gabon.”he said.

Concerning the case that is making headlines, relating to the discovery after a meticulous investigation, of pirate servers within the Gabon Energy Company (SEEG), Marcel Robert Ntchoreret who calls for justice to strike with severity, pleads for similar investigations to continue in other public and parapublic administrations.

For him, “I hope that this time justice will not give away anything; it must not stop at the SEEG, there are a multitude of administrations, institutions, we must restore order. I am for order, discipline for the development of the country.”
