Lessons Learned: Breast Precancerous Lesions and Cervical Carcinoma in Situ – A Personal Journey

After experiencing the “precancerous lesions” of my mother’s breasts and “cervical carcinoma in situ”, I gained some experience and want to share it with you in this article ~ (For my mother’s breast cancer precancerous lesions and cervical carcinoma in situ, I have gained some experience. Readers who are interested in the cancer detection process can read my previous article????????)

As mentioned in the previous article, when my mother discovered precancerous breast lesions, the doctor initially suggested that my mother should be observed for half a year before returning for follow-up. The doctor believed that her breast tumors were benign, so there was no need to worry~

However, because the size of the tumor was regarding 2 centimeters, my mother was worried, so she went north to seek treatment at Hexin Hospital. However, following reading the previous examination report and palpation, the doctor also believed that the chance of a benign tumor was higher, so he just asked my mother to come back for a follow-up visit in half a year.

Unexpectedly, in less than 3 months, it evolved from a benign tumor to a “precancerous lesion.”

The value of a second opinion

In this process, I gained an experience, that is, when I have doubts regarding my health,“Don’t leave your fate entirely in the hands of the same doctor.”

At that time, my mother felt that the 2-centimeter breast tumor was larger than the common benign tumors, so she decided to go to the second hospital for confirmation.

When you get a second opinion, even if you end up with the same answer, at least it was a double professional judgment. following all,“The same thing will have different results due to different perspectives.”

When my mother was diagnosed with “cervical carcinoma in situ”, the doctor also recommended that my mother return for follow-up in six months. But because my mother had learned from the past this time, she decided to do further self-funded examinations to confirm the nature of the tumor. In fact, further “inspection and confirmation” also has the value of a second opinion.

Fortunately, it was immediately discovered that malignant cells were indeed present in the tumor. Afterwards, following carefully thinking regarding this process, I came to a conclusion,“Perhaps it’s because doctors often deal with patients with relatively serious diseases or cancers, and post-treatment treatment usually accounts for the majority, so medical standards are slightly lowered for relatively mild and occasional cases.”

This principle is just like if we see too many relatively serious things, we may have the same reaction when we look back at other relatively minor events. It can be seen that many feelings actually come from “comparison”????

In short, take care of your own health????
