Developer Larian Studios has released new details about Baldur’s Gate III ahead of its PC Early Access launch on August 3. He notably talked about the abilities of the Illithids and their impact on your party of heroes, and confirmed in a new post on the game page that the game will take around 122 GB of free space on your disc.

Here’s what we know

As previously stated, saves from the first version of the game will not be compatible with the final version, but Larian says that “it’s definitely worth starting over from the beginning”. Additionally, full Steam Deck support with optimal graphics settings and, finally, full controller support were announced.

Support for AMD FSR 2.0 technology is also on the way and will be ready for September 6 when BG III launches on PlayStation 5. As for running the game at high settings, a “good CPU paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 will deliver 1440p resolution and 60 FPS. For true 4K, however, you’ll need an RTX 4080/4090 or equivalent from AMD, although you can take advantage of DLSS to hit 4K with lower requirements.
