The story, located in the horror genre and also action and adventure, is set in a post-apocalyptic world following a pandemic that broke out in the United States. There, a virus was spread that turns humans into cannibals.

Years later, humanity is devastated and they meet Joel and Ellie, who was infected but appears to be immune to the virus. This means high hopes for the search for a cure, so Joel must protect it and go through the obstacles that come with living in a broken society.

It was Carig Mazin, screenwriter and producer of the adaptation, who confirmed that filming had come to an end.. The filmmaker posted a short message on Twitter on Saturday, in which he celebrates the work that spanned a year with locations in western Canada.

In April, Pedro Pascal had commented on some aspects of the series and how the process of keeping it faithful to the video game has been. “There’s a very, very creative way of honoring what’s important and also preserving what’s iconic to the video game experience, and also including things that you wouldn’t necessarily expect,” he said in an interview with GQ UK.

Also, noted that his character had seemed very interesting and like the game, although he might not play it. “It’s so sad that I don’t have any skills. I tried, you know. And then it was only a matter of minutes before I had to hand it over to my nephew,” she assured.
