These wireless speakers promise in particular a long autonomy and an IP67 waterproofness. Presentation.

Au spring 2021Sony unveiled three new models mobile speakers specially designed for the party, the SRS-XP700, SRS-XP500 and SRS-XG500. As summer approaches, the Japanese manufacturer is offering new models with a redesigned design, but also more affordable. Called SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200, they also integrate the X-series.

SRS-XG300: a speaker to set the mood

This wireless speaker was designed especially to enhance summer evenings. Waterproof and dust-resistant (IP67 certification), it has an LED ring on each side that lights up to the rhythm of the music. The colors can also be set manually from the dedicated application. With its cylindrical design, it measures 318 x 138 x 136 mm and weighs 3 kg. This weight being substantial compared to other models and in particular to the XE300 and XE200, Sony has provided a retractable handle to facilitate its transport.

At its heart, it houses left and right woofers and tweeters, with rectangular diaphragms and not round as is usually the case. This is what Sony calls the X Balanced Speaker Unit. According to the manufacturer, this design would provide more powerful bass and reduce distortion. A Mega Bass option is also on the program.

In terms of codecs, it supports SBC, AAC and LDAC formats.
At the same time, like the other two models, the SRS-XG300 speaker has a Live Sound mode to better enjoy the sounds recorded live during concerts, for example.

The SRS-XG300 can also be used as for video calls. A reduction of the echo then makes it possible to clarify the sound during the exchanges.
It connects via Bluetooth 5.2 and has a multipoint connection, but also Fast Pair with Android terminals. Thanks to Party Connect, it is possible to pair up to 100 compatible speakers.

Sony estimates its autonomy at 25 hours, knowing that its battery is compatible with fast charging.

Their design is different from that of the SRS-XG300. The lighting disappears on these two models which adopt a pentagon design with flat sides allowing the speakers to be placed both horizontally and vertically.

The SRS-XE300 measures 105 x 238 x 119 mm and weighs 1.3 kg, while the SRS-XE200 is smaller with dimensions of 90 x 208 x 94 mm and a featherweight 800 grams. They are therefore more easily transportable than the first model.

The sound is propelled on these two speakers by two loudspeakers with double passive radiators for the bass.

On these two devices, the X Balanced Speaker Unit, Live Sound and echo reduction for calls are also on the program, as is Party connect. Moreover, they also benefit from Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, without the multipoint connection being offered.
The SRS-XE300 has according to Sony a large autonomy of 24 hours, once morest 16 hours for the SRS-XE200. An Ambient Noise Sensing feature detects when these speakers are outside and then automatically triggers a power saving mode.

Like the SRS-XG300, these two mobile speakers are IP67 certified.
The SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200 will be available during July 5 at the price of 299.99 euros, 199.99 euros and 149.99 euros respectively. They are already available for pre-order.
