Since this Tuesday at 5 p.m., the resort of Les Crosets is once more accessible by road. The area affected Sunday evening by a landslide has been secured.
Closed since Sunday at 8 p.m., the road leading to Les Crosets, in the Valais Chablais, has been open once more since Tuesday at 5 p.m. The section had been cut following a landslide which had occurred regarding 1 km from the entrance to the village, fortunately without causing any injuries. In total, some 40 m3 of pieces of rock and earth spilled onto the road.
As indicated on Monday by the head of the Cantonal Mobility Service, Vincent Pellissier, the sector, still under construction, can only be crossed on a half floor at first. Traffic will therefore be carried out for a few days in alternating mode.
In addition to clearing and securing work, a project to lay protective nets is being developed to manage the risk in the longer term, on a road frequently impacted by the vagaries of the weather and landslides. .
