The French women’s handball team will prepare ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in Capbreton from June 12 to July 2. “A site benefiting from sports facilities and exceptional reception conditions”for the Federation.
Like a feeling of déjà vu. Les Bleues du handball will return to Capbreton in July, as was the case this year, to prepare for the supreme objective of the year 2024: the Paris Olympic Games. They will leave their luggage in the Landes for three weeks, from June 12 to July 2. “I am very happy that we can continue our collaboration with the city of Capbreton once more for 2024 and to prepare for the most important competition of the season”, rejoices Olivier Krumbholz, the coach of the tricolors. For their part, the men’s team will travel to Tignes (from June 20 to July 4).
Capbreton, a historic site
For several seasons, Les Bleues have been preparing for major competitions in Capbreton. “Housed at the Baya hotel, the staff and players have their habits: they travel by bike to reach the sports complex with its stadium equipped with an athletics track, the gymnasium with the laminate flooring, the weight room and the dojo. The tool is perfectly suited to the preparation of Olympic champions. The rise of the Rhune is one of the essential passages for Les Bleues during training courses in their cocoon of Capbreton”, indicates the French Handball Federation. The coach of the French women, who begin the world championships once morest Angola on November 30, confirms. “We are received in the best possible conditions, everything is put in place to prepare our performance in an optimal manner and the environments are simply exceptional”, he emphasizes.
This preparation course might be filled with matches, but this remains to be confirmed. “Capbreton is a historic location for the French women’s team. We are used to going there and in most cases we have subsequently achieved exceptional performances,” underlines Olivier Krumbholz.
