Leodan Torrealba, a Venezuelan who was unable to excel in the men’s triple jump at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, wants to focus on the future, because from now on he aspires to become an athlete with real chances of winning medals at different international events.

This was revealed during a conversation with Aloys Marín, a member of the press department of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee (COV), to whom he said that his goal will be to “keep moving forward” in order to become a reference in the world of athletics.

“I represented Venezuela in the best way possible (and things didn’t work out), but I’m ready now. Now I’ll turn the page and start thinking about what’s next,” said Torrealba, who showed off his talent at the Stade de France.

Position

With a mark of 16.18 metres (m), Torrealba placed 29th among 32 competitors in the preliminary triple jump event, held in Saint-Denis.

He was not satisfied with the results obtained, but he acknowledged that participating in the most important event in the world represented a milestone in his career. He said that he enjoyed the experience to the fullest.

“I really have to thank God for being in Paris. I had better expectations (of winning medals) and I’m leaving relaxed. I feel super happy, because they were my first games and I enjoyed them.”
