What this means for the Austrian locations in Lenzing and Heiligenkreuz is currently being negotiated with the works council – figures are not being communicated for the time being. According to reports, around half of the total job cuts could be attributable to these locations.
Lenzing made a loss of 96.7 million euros in the first three quarters of the current financial year, after a net profit of 74.9 million euros in the same period in 2022. The company announced this on Friday morning. Sales revenue fell by 5.3 percent to 1.87 billion euros. This decline was primarily due to lower fiber sales, while pulp sales increased.
