When it comes to luxury laptops, what’s better than a model with a gorgeous 13-inch OLED display? One with two gorgeous 13-inch OLED displays, of course. The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i is a twist on the traditional laptop, ditching its physical keyboard for a second screen. Think of a Microsoft Surface Duo, only suitable for the size of a laptop.
You don’t need to type on the touchscreen (although you can, bringing up a virtual keyboard with an eight-finger tap gesture) because the Yoga 9i comes with a Bluetooth keyboard. It magnetically locks into place on the underside of the lower screen for a more traditional layout – or you can push it up to cover the top half, freeing up the bottom to use as a touchpad.
There’s also a folio stand that will hold both screens vertically or horizontally, letting you work on two documents side-by-side or on a giant scrolling screen, and it also supports the stylus for sketching and note-taking.
On the hardware side, you’ll get two 2.8k resolution OLEDs, each with 100% DCI-P3 color coverage and Dolby Vision HDR support. A hinge-integrated 360-degree rotating soundbar has been endorsed by audio experts Bowers & Wilkins and is Dolby Atmos compatible. Performance is delivered by a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-U15 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. The thin and light 13-inch isn’t overflowing with connectivity, but you do get three USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ports, plus Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1. An 80 Wh battery promises 10 hours of video playback on two screens or 14 hours on a single screen.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i isn’t expected to go on sale until June at the earliest and will likely land in the US first. Expect prices to start from $2100.
Arty all-in-one
The Yoga AIO 9i Desktop is also on the horizon, an equally stunning all-in-one PC, but with just one screen instead of two. At 31.5 inches, it packs a sizable screen, but the dimensions are incredibly tiny everywhere else. All the hardware has been stealthily tucked away in the stand, leaving the display to float on a svelte metal hinge.
Inside there’s a mobile version of the 13th Gen Intel Core i9 processor, along with Nvidia RTX 4000-series laptop graphics, so there’s more than enough muscle for photo editing and video, graphic design and even some gaming. Four Harman Kardon speakers are shared between the stand and the display, with Atmos spatial audio integrated.
The display is borderless on three sides, featuring a 4K resolution IPS panel with 100% sRGB color coverage. HDR600 certification is not to be sniffed at, so streaming videos should be top notch. There’s also a 5MP webcam built into the bezel. Other neat additions include a Qi wireless charger built into the stand, to keep your phone powered while you work (or play).
There’s no firm release date yet, with just a vague “Q3 2023” window to go on – but we know the Yoga AIO 9i will set you back at least $1800 when it does.
