US rock star Lenny Kravitz (“Are You Gonna Go My Way”) is to be honored with a star plaque in Hollywood. The 59-year-old will unveil the 2,774th star on the “Walk of Fame” on March 12, the award winners announced on Monday (local time). His daughter, actress and model Zoë Kravitz (35), is invited as a guest speaker. She comes from his previous marriage to actress Lisa Bonet.

Hollywood star Denzel Washington is also expected to pay tribute to the singer at the ceremony. The guitarist and singer Kravitz made his breakthrough in 1989 with his album “Let Love Rule”. His best-known songs include “American Woman”, “Fly Away”, “Fields Of Joy” and “It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over”. His twelfth album, titled “Blue Electric Light,” is scheduled to be released in May. The Grammy award winner also works as a designer and actor, for example in films such as “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “2022: Shotgun Wedding – A Tough Team”.

The “Walk of Fame” is a stretch of sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles into which the star-shaped plaques are embedded. The stars have been awarded since 1960.
