Just a few weeks ago, fashion designer Lena Hoschek presented her new Scottish-inspired collection, and yesterday the Styrian woman had to file for bankruptcy. As the Alpine Creditors Association (AKV) announced, the liabilities amount to 6.82 million euros and the debts are 2.95 million euros. A continuation of the business, which employs 60 people, is planned. The creditors should receive 20 percent of their claims. The designer also has to look for an investor.

Drastically changed general conditions such as the corona pandemic, ongoing delivery difficulties and delays made it necessary for the traditional Austrian company Lena Hoschek GmbH to take the matter to the Vienna Commercial Court. “We did not make this decision easy for ourselves, but given the current challenges, we have reached a point where, as a responsible entrepreneur, I have to apply for restructuring proceedings,” said the 43-year-old from Graz in a broadcast. “First and foremost, it’s about securing the future and, above all, jobs.”
