Leipzig. The warning strike in Leipzig local transport on Friday morning was initially not as extensive as predicted. A few buses and trams were still running through the city on some main routes until the followingnoon. As a result, the emergency offer was scaled back, as spokesman Marc Backhaus explained.

On Saturday there were no buses or trains running on any lines. The 51-hour warning strike ends at around 6 a.m. on Sunday morning. With the start of the morning shift, trains and buses should be running regularly through the city on all lines.
Shift change on Friday followingnoon completed emergency plan
The reason for scaling back the emergency plan was the upcoming shift change among colleagues on duty. According to Backhaus, it should then become clear whether the new staff will take part in the strike or not. “Most of them will probably not be willing to work,” predicted Backhaus. Passengers should not assume that they will be able to use public transport in the coming hours, he emphasized. On Saturday morning it became clear that the LVB spokesman was right.

The LVB spokesman recommended using the “LeipzigMove” app to find out whether and which lines are served before starting your journey. “If the connections are marked green, you can still be reasonably sure that the trains are running.”
