Vienna (OTS) – “SVS invests sustainably and successfully in provision. The wide-ranging ‘Provision together’ initiative creates an effective incentive for preventive medical check-ups. Every SVS-insured person who completes his medical check-up will receive a 100-euro bonus in 2023. A total of 15 million euros have already been collected this year,” explains Peter Lehner, chairman of the social insurance for the self-employed, and thus explains the forecast minus of 62 million euros in the financial forecast for 2023 for the health insurance sector. In addition, there is a noticeable increase in the costs of medical aid, remedies and the financing of hospitals. “In 2023, 633 million euros are expected to be spent on ‘medical aid’, 470 million euros on remedies, and the largest cost factor is the transfer to the federal states for the hospital fund with 657 million euros,” explains Lehner.
The outlook for the coming years envisages a minus of almost 38 million euros for 2024, 2025 a plus of 33 million euros is expected, 2026 one of almost 39 million euros and 2027 one of 28 million euros.
