Lego to Replace Oil in Bricks and Open New Customer Service Center in Tempe

Lego is making significant strides toward sustainability by planning to replace the oil traditionally used in its iconic plastic bricks with more environmentally friendly alternatives. After rigorous testing of over 600 different materials, the company has concluded that the most effective path to greening its products is through a more costly but impactful approach.

Dedicated Arizona fans of Lego’s colorful plastic bricks will soon have a chance to join the ambitious Danish company, as it prepares to launch a new customer service center in Tempe in August 2025. This exciting announcement was made on Oct. 29, coinciding with a job posting for full-time customer service representatives who will become the face of the brand in the region.

Initially, newly hired customer service representatives will work remotely until the physical office opens its doors, after which they will transition to a hybrid working model that requires at least three days in-person each week. The first training program for new employees, spanning six weeks and conducted in person, is set to kick off on Jan. 13, 2025, ensuring that all staff members are well-prepared to offer exceptional service.

The job posting also highlights Lego’s commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture, stating, “Children are our role models. Their curiosity, creativity, and imagination inspire everything we do.” This philosophy underscores the company’s dedication to creating a diverse, dynamic, and inclusive environment where all employees feel valued and a sense of belonging.

In addition to customer service roles, Lego is seeking to fill the position of a business operations team leader, offering an attractive salary range between $73,320 and $95,500 annually for the right candidate.

Lego operates a vast network with 37 sales offices and over 27,000 employees worldwide, emphasizing its significant global presence in the toy industry.
