Legends League Cricket: Maharaja loses again to India

Muscat: The Maharaja of India lost the second match in a row in Legends League cricket. India defeated Maharaja by the Asia Lions. The team won by 36 runs.

Batting first, the Maharajas were bowled out for 157 in 20 overs to reach the target of 194 set by the Asia Lions. Score: Asia Lions 193 for four in 20 overs. India Maharajas 157 for eight in 20 overs.

Upul Tharanga and Ashgar Afghan batted brilliantly for the Asia Lions, who lost the toss and opted to bat. Tharanga hit 72 off 45 balls with seven fours and four sixes. The Afghans were unbeaten on 69 off just 28 balls with four fours and seven sixes.

In reply, Wasim Jaffer and Manpreet Gony were the only batsmen to make an impact for India. Jaffer scored 35 off 25 balls while Gony scored 35 not out off 21 balls. Muttiah Muralitharan, Mohammad Rafique and Shoaib Akhtar took two wickets each for the Asia Lions.

The Maharaja of India came into the game with big changes. This adversely affected the performance of the team. Avishkar Salvi, Nikhil Chopra and Amit Bhandari have been named in the squad.

After losing two matches in a row, India reached the final of the Maharajas. India can advance to the final only if they win the next match by a large margin.
