Legal Triumph: Solapur District Prosecutor Honored for Delivering Justice to Over 100 Families in Pune

The Indian Human Rights Council organized a special felicitation for Advocate Pradeep Singh Rajput, the District Government Lawyer from Solapur, at Garware College of Commerce in Pune on July 27, 2024. He secured life sentences for over one hundred defendants and death sentences for two, thereby bringing justice to more than one hundred families. The honor was bestowed upon him by Pune’s Police Commissioner, Mr. Amitesh Kumar. The event was graced by the presence of former District and Sessions Judge Mr. Ambedkar and renowned criminal lawyer Advocate S.K. Jain from Pune. Following the felicitation ceremony, a discussion session was organized by the hosts on newly proposed laws, namely the Indian Citizen Security Code, Indian Justice Code, and the Indian Evidence Act. During this discussion, Pune’s Police Commissioner Mr. Amitesh Kumar presented the police administration’s perspective regarding the new laws, while Advocate Pradeep Singh Rajput represented the government’s stance in accordance with the new legislation. Advocate S.K. Jain articulated the accused’s viewpoint concerning the new laws. Additionally, retired District and Sessions Judge Mr. Ambedkar shared his views on the upcoming legislation from the standpoint of a judge. After the discussion session, a Q&A segment was held. Attendees from the public and the legal fraternity posed various questions about the new laws and the current situation, and the panel members promptly addressed these queries. The event was organized by all the officials of the Indian Human Rights Council. The main coordinator of the event, Advocate Ashish Sonawane, conducted the proceedings, and all officials from the Pune Bar Association, as well as members of the Dharma Jagran Law Department, were present in large numbers. The program began with the national anthem and concluded with ‘Vande Mataram’. During the event, Pune’s Police Commissioner Mr. Amitesh Kumar urged all officials present to regularly organize such discussion sessions to raise awareness regarding laws and law and order, assuring complete cooperation from the police administration. This appeal received significant appreciation from the public present, and questions were raised, to which all the officials present assured that they would regularly conduct such discussion sessions.
