Lawyer Noura Al-Wanda announced the punishment that is applied to anyone who neglects the elderly and does not take care of him, and indicated that the punishment amounts to imprisonment and a fine.

It emphasized that the penalty is one year in prison and a fine of up to 500,000 Saudi riyals.
She explained during her intervention on Al-Ekhbariya channel: “The system has indicated that the responsibility for caring for the elderly falls on his family,” and she drew attention to the fact that the system is determined by grading responsibility within the family.
Al-Wadna referred to the punishment that includes neglect in caring for the elderly, but if this may result in neglecting any other violations or crimes, the court is responsible for determining the punishment that suits the case.
