Legal Medicine confirmed “physical characteristics of a suicide” in the case of the death of Colonel Óscar Dávila on June 9.
The Deputy Attorney General of the Nation, Martha Mancera, revealed the setting of the events, in the town of Teusaquillo, in Bogotá.
Later, he narrated the last minutes of the high official before his death. He was in a relative’s apartment, left it, then called his wife and later a journalist from Cambio magazine, before arriving at the place where his death occurred.
The Deputy Prosecutor confirmed that it was a suicide, since they did not find any third party who might hit, inflict or shoot the colonel.
Jorge Paredesa forensic doctor, explained that the weapon was placed in contact with the colonel’s head, which generated a wound that is the sign of Benassi, gunpowder residue on the outside of the skull and on the soft tissues of the scalp.
“That’s definitely a contact wound.”he pointed out.
“This body had no signs of struggle, quarrel or helplessness”he added.
It caught his attention that Colonel Dávila was taking a medication, a product of his stress.
Paredes confirmed that they were able to determine that this case has “physical characteristics of a suicide”.
