The Senior Vice Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service is appointed by the Financial Supervisory Service following the Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Service.
The new vice president was born in 1970, graduated from Yeongdong High School and Seoul National University’s Department of Law, and received a master’s degree in law from Indiana University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut.
He passed the 36th civil service examination and served as the head of the Industrial Finance Division of the Financial Services Commission, the head of the Financial Policy Division, the Structural Improvement Policy Director, and the Director of the Financial Policy Bureau.
The term of office for this new vice president is three years from this day until December 25, 2026.
As Director Lee moves to the Financial Supervisory Service, follow-up level 1 appointments to the Financial Services Commission are expected to take place around January next year.
