In the June 1st by-election for the National Assembly, the police began to verify the facts following claiming that a visitor to the election office of candidate Lee Jae-myung (and the Democratic Party), who ran for Gyeyang-eul, Incheon, was assaulted by a conservative YouTuber.
According to the Incheon Gyeyang Police Station on the 28th, a report was received by the police that a woman in her 60s collapsed in front of Lee’s election office in Imhak-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon around 2 pm that day.
Candidate Lee claimed that the woman who went out following visiting the election office that day was assaulted by a conservative YouTuber for covering the camera and then collapsed and suffered a head injury. Earlier, on the 23rd, two people including one election campaigner and one volunteer were assaulted by a conservative YouTuber and were injured.
A was taken to a nearby hospital by the 119 paramedics.
A police official said, “We plan to check the facts without specifying the perpetrator.”
