Lee Jae-myung, the eldest son of Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, is suspected of having been admitted to the Armed Forces Capital Hospital without a personnel order order while serving in the military. However, the Ministry of National Defense announced that the Air Force Education Command and Sudo Hospital had already discarded the daily reports to resolve this suspicion.

Ministry of National Defense “Discarding the daily reports of military personnel when Lee was admitted to the Armed Forces Capital Hospital”

People’s Power released the response it received from the Ministry of National Defense on the 11th regarding Lee’s ‘preferential hospitalization’ suspicion. According to the Chosun Ilbo, the Ministry of National Defense responded, “According to Article 185 of Personnel Management of Air Force Soldiers, the daily military report is preserved and discarded for only one year.”

Lee suffered an ankle injury while serving in the military in 2014 and operated on at a private hospital. It was reported that he was admitted to the Armed Forces Capital Hospital for 52 days from July to September of that year.

According to the Ministry of National Defense ordinance, if a soldier wants to be admitted to a military hospital, he or she must submit a personnel order issued by the unit to which he belongs, as well as a military record book and a major award examination.

However, the Air Force Education Command had never issued a personnel order for Lee for hospitalization. It was also revealed that the request for a personnel order was made more than a month following Lee was admitted to the Armed Forces Capital Hospital. At this time, the Air Force Education Command did not issue an order even following receiving the request.

Reservist Army Commander “If you check the daily reports of the Air Force trainer and the military personnel of the capital hospital, it will be explained.”

For this reason, the People’s Power has raised suspicions that Mr. Lee may have been hospitalized with preferential treatment. On the 5th, Won Hee-ryong, head of the policy division of the People’s Power Election Countermeasures Headquarters, said, “For four months, if we check the daily reports of the air force trainer and the Armed Forces Capital Hospital and check which personnel they are being held, who intervened and made the illegal act will be revealed.” explained.

On the same day, Reservist Army Major Kim Jin-hang, who served as the commander of the 12th division of the Army, also posted on Facebook, “The military clarification that a soldier was hospitalized at the Armed Forces Capital Hospital without a personnel order for over a month without a personnel order was ‘missing due to the mistake of the personnel in charge of the Air Force Education Command’. “The suspicion will be resolved if we only disclose the daily reports of the Air Force Education Command and the Armed Forces Capital Hospital.”

Air Force “person in charge mistakenly omitted the personnel order” followed by the Ministry of National Defense “Abandoning the military daily report”

As the controversy grew, the Air Force clarified on the 7th that “the personnel officer in charge of Lee missed the issuance of the personnel order by mistake during his service.” At the time, he did not reveal that the person in charge who omitted the personnel order was an executive or whether he was currently serving, saying, “It is personal information.”

In addition, as the Ministry of National Defense announced that “according to the Air Force regulations, the daily military report (related to Lee’s hospitalization) has been abolished,” it has become more difficult to determine whether Lee’s admission to the Armed Forces Capital Hospital is a ‘preferential admission’.
