Lee Jae-myeong, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, will meet this morning with former leader Nak-yeon Lee, who has declared the end of the year as the deadline for leaving the party.
The two are scheduled to meet at a restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul around 10 am.
After announcing this plan as he left the party leader’s office yesterday evening, Representative Lee added, “We need to make sure that our people are not disappointed in our policy of integration, so I thought I would visit their house at least once.”
When asked if they were meeting with specific plans, such as forming an “integrated emergency response committee,” which was requested by former Representative Lee Nak-yeon, he said, “We need to talk regarding it.”
He also answered, “Since our positions can be different, isn’t it true that no one can do things the way they want in the world? We should meet once and try to work together once more.”
