Elder actor Lee Il-woong passed away at the age of 80.
Lee Il-woong was diagnosed with biliary tract cancer in early January and died at 9:22 pm on the 10th following fighting for four months.
Born in Uiseong, Gyeongsangbuk-do in 1942, the deceased made his acting debut in 1961, and began his full-fledged drama appearance in 1964 as a talent for the 4th generation of KBS. The deceased first took on the lead role in the daily drama ‘Mr. Lee’s Excited’ (1970), and appeared in ‘European Express’ (1976), ‘Comrades’ (1983), ‘Now in Pyongyang’ (1982~1985), etc. He made his face as an actor.
Since then, he has produced historical dramas such as ‘The Third Republic’ (1993), ‘Taejo Wang Geon’ (2000~2001), ‘The Age of Wildness’ (2003), ‘Land’ (2004), ‘Daejoyeong’ (2006), and the longevity drama ‘Jujube’ He received a lot of love for his passionate performance in ‘I’ve Got Love for a Tree’.
The burial place of the deceased was prepared in room 101 of the funeral hall at Kyunghee Medical Center in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul. The funeral will be held at 6 am on the 13th.
