LeBron scores 40 points and equals the mark of 9 triples

LeBron James had one of the best shooting nights of his illustrious career, making 9 of 10 from behind the arc to tie his record for three-pointers, and matched his season-high 40 to lead the Los Angeles Lakers yesterday. Angels to a 116-104 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

With his work, he broke the record for the most games scoring 30 points or more, a mark that belonged to Michael Jordan with 671 games.

James kept the crowd at Barclays Center on its feet by putting the finishing touches on his three-point shooting display during the fourth quarter. He reached 40 points for the third time this season, his most recent coming on March 16 in a home loss to Golden State.

The Lakers have won five of six since then, and this victory has put them at their season-high nine games over .500 with seven games remaining in the regular season.
