LeBron James will become the all-time leading scorer this season

As he begins his twentieth season in the NBA, LeBron James should (once once more) seek new records to add to his collection, including the one everyone is waiting for: the All-Time leading scorer title ahead of Kareem Abdul. -Jabbar.

The years pass, the champions change, the coaches follow one another but LeBron James always seems the same. Despite his 37 years (and soon 38), the King continues to martyrize the opposing defenses night following night. While many stars see their stats drop drastically as soon as they reach their second half of their thirties, LBJ doesn’t care. 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, this is the line of stats he released to us last season, failing to win the title of best scorer 2021-22. It was also his second best career scoring average, the best since… 2006! Still as monstrous in attack, the native of Akron took the opportunity to overtake Karl Malone in the ranking of the best all-time scorers, climbing to second place in this mythical hierarchy. In front, there is now only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and he is within sight. Only 1325 points separate the Lakers winger from the former pivot. On a normal season in 82 games, that’s regarding 16 points on average. For a player like LeBron who has never dropped below 20 points in a season, it’s a piece of cake. It remains to be seen when it will exceed it. If the Chosen One averaged 25 points this year, it would take them exactly 53 games to catch up to number one.

A new highlight in the history of the NBA will therefore certainly be written this season and the King will strengthen his legacy a little more by becoming the best all-time scorer in the League. He can then focus on other feats such as the number of baskets recorded in his career. Again, he is behind KAJ but with a gap that protects for the moment the mythical pivot of Showtime (15837 once morest 13543). Logical, since the former Lew Alcindor did not shoot at 3-pointers, he therefore had more baskets to put. As an indication, LeBron scored 640 baskets last year (turning at 30 pawns per game). It would therefore take him four seasons minimum to dethrone Jabbar once once more. Complicated even if you should never say impossible with BronBron. Regarding the more achievable goals, we can also mention the ranking of the best all-time passers. Currently seventh, LBJ is only 96 caviar behind Magic Johnson and he might even go for Mark Jackson or even Steve Nash if he avoids sores and remains consistent. He might therefore, if all goes well, find himself at the end of the season as top scorer and fourth best all-time passer. Good luck to anyone who wants to imitate him.

LeBron James will play his 20th season in the NBA and as often he will dust off the history books of the League. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s points record will fall in the next few months, who will be next on the King’s list?
