Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has agreed to a two-year contract renewal for $97.1 million, according to his agent, Rich Powell. James, 37, will remain at the Los Angeles Lakers until 2024, and his contract provides for the option to extend him for an additional season until the 2024-2025 season. His old contract expired in 2023, and he was guaranteed a salary of $44.5 million this season. 4-time NBA champion LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018.
James is considered one of the best basketball players of all time, and also won two gold medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
